INDIANAPOLIS EPOXY PIPE LINING COMPANY RESTORES 2″-60″ DIAMETER PIPES FOR 100 YEARS!
Depending on pipe diameter, pressure, temperature and residual strength, 2 different technologies are used for rehabilitation.
1. Cured In Place Pipe Lining (CIPP)
If the pipes are too badly deteriorated for spray on epoxy lining (discussed next), a long sleeve soaked in epoxy can be inflated inside the pipe and allowed to cure. This is called CIPP. It is much stronger than the spray on epoxy and has a 50 year warranty.
Examples of pipes that use CIPP would be cracked cast iron sewer drains, vertical rain drains and perforated corrugated storm drains. Here is a video showing what trenchless cured in place pipe lining looks like in a 4″ sewer pipe in a house in Indianapolis.
2. SPRAY-ON Epoxy Pipe Lining Service In Indianapolis
If the pipe is of large diameter (typically over 2″), in good structural condition and is under high pressure or temperature, then an epoxy is sprayed onto the inside surface of the pipe using a rotating nozzle. The thickness is computer controlled and the pipes are typically pressure tested to ensure all leaks were sealed.
Typically used in force water mains, fire suppression pipes, chiller (cooling and heating) pipes.
